"History is still being written. You're writing it everyday. The wheels still spin and what you do and what you don't do will be apart of it. You build a legacy not from one thing, but from everything."

“Stop comparing yourself to other people. You're only on this planet to be you, not someone else's imitation of you… Your life journey is about learning to become more of who you are and fulfilling the highest, truest expression of yourself as a human being.”

Your job is not always going to fulfill you. There will be some days that you just might be bored. Other days, you may not feel like going to work at all. Go anyway. And remember that your job is not who you are. It’s just what you’re doing on the way to who you will become.

1.Be visual and conversational. Be concrete, make your reader see and stop trying to impress.

2.Beware “the curse of knowledge.” Have someone read your work and tell you if it makes sense. Your own brain cannot be trusted.

3.Don’t bury the lead. Clarity beats suspense. If they don’t know what it’s about they can’t follow along.

4.You don’t have to play by the rules, but try. If you play it straight 99% of the time, that 1% will really shine.

5.Read Read Read. The English language is too complex to learn from one book. Never stop learning.

6.Good writing means revising. Never hit “send” or “print” without reviewing your work — preferably multiple times.

Here are some of the amazing things that happen to a body in motion.

1. Exercise is great for your brain.

It's linked to less depression, better memory and quicker learning. Studies also suggest that exercise is, as of now, the best way to prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, a major fear for many Americans.

2. You might get happier.

Countless studies show that many types of exercise, from walking to cycling, make people feel better and can even relieve symptoms of depression.

1. They believe in themselves

Super successful people have developed greater self-confidence and self-esteem. They recognize that it all starts from within, and that believing in themselves is the fuel that propels them and motivates them to keep going in life — farther than most of us do.

2. They focus on results

Super successful people have mastered the habit of focusing on results to achieve their goals. They have experienced what is like when they focus on obstacles, they simply do not move forward that way.

3. They pick themselves up and try again when they fail

Super successful people do not set limitations on themselves because this will only hinder their success. They understand that failure is part of their journey and no matter how many times they fall, they pick themselves up and try again.

4. They are courageous

Super successful people constantly step out of their comfort zones to grow, learn, and go to the next level in life. They identify the fears within them, and build courage to face these fears before they are overcome by them.

5. They take care of themselves

Super successful people realize that one imperative thing that will help them progress is good health. They are aware that eating nutritious foods, exercising, mediating, and praying are vital keys to maintain them physically, emotionally, and spiritually fit.

6. They are committed

Super successful people have learned that being fully committed is essential to get things accomplished in life. They are consistent with what they believe and do, and will not compromise their values as a shortcut to obtain faster results.

7. They have a support system

Super successful people keep themselves surrounded with good company. They have long understood that value of a support system because having people they can count with for sound advice, encouragement and support is necessary in life.

We know what people most often regret before they die:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

An off-duty Taipei police officer on the way to his family home in Yilan County spotted a man resembling one suspect at a restaurant in Dongao

Latvian Andrejs Peregudovs and two Romanians suspected of involvement in an automated teller machine (ATM) heist of more than NT$83 million (US$2.6 million) earlier this month were arrested in Yilan County and Taipei yesterday, police said.

Peregudovs was wanted by authorities as a key suspect in a criminal ring of more than 10 members that allegedly stole NT$83.27 million from 41 First Commercial Bank (第一銀行) ATMs in Taipei and Taichung on July 9 and July 10.

Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) officials yesterday raided the Grand Victoria Hotel in Taipei’s Dazhi District where the two Romanian suspects were staying and found three suitcases containing bundles of cash that police believe could be connected to the heist.

As of press time last night, police had counted about NT$45 million in banknotes.

Taipei City Police officials said they also took a Taiwanese woman into custody, reportedly Peregudovs’ girlfriend, who is a suspected accomplice to the crime.

Police said she might have helped the Latvian and the two Romanian suspects book hotel rooms and hide.

CIB investigators said they had the two Romanian suspects under surveillance for a few days, and only moved in after the key suspect, Peregudovs, was arrested in Yilan yesterday at about 4:30pm.

Once upon a time, in a thick jungle, lived a tortoise and a hare. The hare was very proud of his speed. He always told other animals about how fast he could run. All the animals of the jungle were tired of his boasting. Therefore, one day a clever tortoise asked him, “Would you like to race me?”

When the hare heard the tortoise’s challenge he laughed and said, “Ha…ha…this little tortoise is challenging me. He has no chance at winning.”

The day for the race was scheduled and all the animals in the forest were invited to watch it. When the race began, both the tortoise and the hare started moving. The hare started the race by running as fast as he could. The tortoise, on the other hand, crawled slowly.

After running for a long distance, the hare stopped near a large tree. He looked around and saw no one. So, he decided to rest for a while until he saw the tortoise again. The hare fell fast asleep.

Cool as a Cucumber—Your Action Plan

1. Get enough sleep. Inconsistent sleep can have some serious consequences. Not only does it affect our physical health, but lack of sleep can also contribute to overall anxiety and stress. And sometimes it turns into a vicious cycle, since anxiety often leads to disruptions in sleep. Especially when feeling anxious, try to schedule a full seven to nine hours of snooze time and see what a few nights of sweet slumber do for those anxiety levels throughout the day.

The great composer Frederic Chopin once said, “Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two.” It seems that many people agree with him because the guitar is one of the world’s most popular musical instruments.

The guitar has a long but clouded history. There is some debate about the true origins of the instrument. What is certain is that the name comes from two Sanskrit words: char and tar, which mean “four” and “string”. As the name changed over the years, so did the sound and shape of the guitar until it became the instrument we know and love today.

The electric guitar became popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The guitars are connected to pickups, which translate the movement of the guitar’s strings into electrical signals. In this state, it becomes easy to add effects to the sound. One popular effect is reverb, which adds an echo effect to the music. Nowadays, it is rare to see a new rock or pop band that doesn’t include at least one electric guitar.

The story opens with Eddie, in his twilight years, working as a maintenance man at Ruby Pier. Ruby Pier has been a constant location in his life: his father worked there before him and he used to play there as a child and teenager and it is here that he dies, trying to save a girl from a falling cart on a broken ride.

The first person Eddie meets in heaven is "The Blue Man", real name Joseph Corvelzchik. When Eddie was a boy he stepped out into the street causing Joseph to swerve and crash. This caused him to have a heart attack and affected his life connecting him to Eddie eternally.

The second person Eddie meets is "The Captain," Eddie's commanding officer in the Philippines during World War II. In life, the Captain had made a promise to his troops: No man gets left behind. He makes good on this promise one day by saving Eddie's life, shortly after which he is killed by a land mine.

When an episode of CSI begins, there's a lot you don't know. For example, will the case be solved before someone else gets hurt? Who is the bad guy? Happily, these questions are answered as you dive into the wonderful world of the mystery.

The mystery got its start long before TV. In fact, one of the first detective stories is believed to be Edgar Allan Poe's 1841 short story “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”. In this exciting tale, a detective solves a locked-room mystery. After finishing this detective story, readers wanted more.

About forty years later, an English magazine introduced another brilliant detective—Sherlock Holmes. Created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Holmes picks up on the smallest clues and solves the most impossible cases.

Good news for everyone who ever found a super-embarrassing photo of themselves on Facebook. The social networking site will now let you decide whether your friends can attach your name to a photo before it is posted online. In the past, your friends could add your name to a photo on Facebook without your permission. You could remove it later, but only after lots of others may have seen the embarrassing shots.
